Crassula ovata, or Jade Plant, is a popular succulent known for its thick, glossy, oval-shaped green leaves and sturdy, tree-like structure. Often seen as a symbol of luck and prosperity, it’s commonly called the "money plant." Its compact size, easy care, and ornamental value make it a favorite for both home and office settings. Mature plants may develop pinkish-white star-shaped flowers under ideal conditions.

Size:
Typically 1–3 feet tall indoors, but can grow larger with age.

Prefers bright, indirect light to full sun. South- or west-facing windows are ideal. Too little light may cause leggy growth.

To keep your cut flowers fresh and beautiful for as long as possible, follow these simple steps:
  1. Trim the Stems – Use sharp scissors or a knife to cut about 1-2 inches (2-5 cm) off the stems at a 45-degree angle. This helps the flowers absorb water more efficiently.
  2. Remove Extra Leaves – Remove any leaves that will be submerged in water to prevent bacterial growth.
  3. Use Clean Water – Fill a clean vase with fresh, lukewarm water. Avoid using very cold or hot water.
  4. Change the Water Regularly – Refresh the water every 2 days and re-trim the stems to ensure optimal hydration.
  5. Add Flower Food – If provided, add the flower food to the water to nourish the flowers and slow bacterial growth. If you don’t have flower food, you can mix a teaspoon of sugar and a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar into the water.
  6. Keep in a Cool Spot – Place the vase in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts. Avoid placing flowers near ripening fruits, as they release ethylene gas, which can shorten the lifespan of flowers.
  7. Remove Wilting Flowers – Regularly remove any wilted or dead flowers to prevent bacteria from spreading to the healthy ones.
By following these steps, you can extend the life of your cut flowers and enjoy their beauty for a longer time.
